Paris is an amazing city.. The architecture is beautiful, the sights are iconic and the food is incredible (they even make snails taste nice).  I’m going to show you how to experience the best that Paris has to offer without breaking the bank. I’m basing the below costs on flying from Manchester to Paris CDG on Saturday and returning Monday, in May.

Flights to Paris from the UK are plentiful, well priced and best of all.. quick! I flew return from Manchester to Charles de Gaulle with Air France and the whole thing took under 2 hours from checking in to landing! I would definitely recommend flying with Air France, the whole experience was easy, quick and enjoyable.
The aircraft was new, the crew were friendly and included in the price was a free snack (Macaroons, oui oui!) and a drink (I went for wine). I was in the air, fed, watered and on French soil in the time it takes some people to commute to work. It’s quite crazy to think that you can be sat on the sofa at home and be in another country in less than 3 hours!

Cost for a flight with Air France Sat-Mon in May 2017….. £67

Included in the price – Macaroons and Wine

As with any major European city, Paris pretty much has somewhere for everyone, but it can get quite expensive. For the purpose of this blog I actually stopped.. in a hostel.. alone.. for the first time ever.. and it was great!! I stayed at St Christopher’s Inn – Canal Hostel.  You have the option to stay in a shared dorm room (from £15) or in a private room (from £30 pp). I stayed in a private double room and it was literally no different to stopping in a hotel, apart from the much lower price!
The room was spacious, clean & well lit with a view of Paris, it had a huge comfortable double bed, sink, desk, full length mirror, set of drawers and I had access to a piping hot shower on the same floor. The hostel had a cool al fresco bar overlooking the canal that had sport on the TV’s (Anthony Joshua was fighting Klitchko when I was here) and served food. It also had a nightclub for those wanting to stay up past my bed time. To top things off a free breakfast is included in the price so need to spend £15 eating out.
St Christopher’s are a big reputable name in the hostel industry and have lots of hostels at different locations around Europe – I’ll definitely be using them again.

Cost of a private double or twin room for 2 nights stay at St Christopher’s Canal hostel…. £84pp
